In deep south Texas, a horse that will "bust through brush" is a necessity.  Unfortunately, every once in a while you find a horse that doesn't have the heart for the job.  Usually the pony has been bought or traded for in other parts of the country and has not been raised among the thorns.  Balks and fits are common, many try to jump the unwelcome scrapes and scratches.  No matter the pony's choice of action, it's all a "Failure to Communicate".
